Description

The Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services (CTSS) requires one (1) self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to apply trauma-informed principles while supporting victims of crime and trauma. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide support and referral for victims of crime and other trauma.
  • Conduct client centered needs assessments, case conferences and provide ongoing client support as required from the time of referral up until file resolution in court.
  • Work collaboratively with CTSS Volunteer Advocates to provide support to victims of crime and trauma.
  • Identify gaps in service and work with a diverse group of community members to develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate these gaps.
  • Work collaboratively with other EPS Units along with other CTSS Coordinators to ensure the community receives a high level of service.
  • Build and strengthen relationships to earn legitimacy and increased community awareness of the victim supports and resources available municipally, provincially, and federally.
  • Act as a liaison between CTSS, the EPS, community partners and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Prepare statistical reports, drafts/update policy, report on program outputs and other related duties as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships and identify appropriate community resources relevant to the client's served.

At the discretion of unit leadership and in concert with evolving organizational and community needs, specialized portfolios may be developed and assigned to the coordinator hired into this role. The successful candidate will initially be considered a generalist coordinator who will support a wide range of crime types and situations involving trauma.
