- Draft, review and process various legal documents (including pleadings and statutory documents) with a solid understanding of legal rules, procedures and legislation
- Prepare supporting materials for questionings, hearings, court or statutory steps relating to expropriation, by investigating facts and relevant precedents
- Analyze pleadings to determine issues involved, determine location of producible records, gather, organize and make preliminary decisions on relevancy, producibility and privilege in any legal proceedings
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of electronic litigation support software to prepare document productions
- Attend at questionings, hearings or other meetings (virtually or in person) to support the process by tracking undertakings, displaying electronic documents and any other support required
- Provide Paralegal support conducting straight forward research, using appropriate legal research tools, such as Westlaw, CanLII and other online sources
- Maintain records, update databases, and track file status pursuant to applicable File Management Protocols
- Liaise with City departments to obtain appropriate relevant and material documentation
- Support the training of Counsel and other team members where needed Work with and provide guidance to other Legal Support Staff in a team oriented atmosphere
