Join the City of Edmonton as a Planning Technician I within Planning Coordination!
As the Planning Technician, you will work with clerical, technical, and professional staff, external consultants, as well as the general public. You will also specialize in technical work applying advanced knowledge of computer applications in developing, maintaining, and stewarding of corporate feature classes, the production of cartographic GIS -based maps, mapping and graphics for reports, committees and authorities, public notice and council presentation material.
What will you do?
- Create maps, graphics, and other related materials for inclusion in all zoning applications, statutory and non-statutory plans, resolutions and bylaw documents using GIS and other software
- Create and revise Subdivision “Condition of Approval” maps using GIS software
- Maintain Department or Corporate AEGIS feature classes to be used in POSSE, the City's website, or to produce hard copy mapping
- Complete geospatial analysis and create 3D models for presentation materials or other unique planning assignments
- Create graphics, presentations and 3D renderings for Public Engagement events and City Council Public Hearing using various programs and technical knowledge
- Performs other related duties as required
