The Senior Data Analyst Leader is a professional supervisory position that oversees a team of Data/Operations Analysts. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the Community Standards Branch by providing your team with leadership, coaching, and direction. You will also be responsible for assigning work, setting priorities, and providing guidance on methods to ensure the quality of work products enables the Branch Leadership Team and Operations Managers to make informed decisions. Additionally, you will be involved in conducting complex analyses, translating technical findings into accessible formats, and leading efforts to improve processes related to data, analysis, and reporting within the Branch.
What will you do?
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of data analysts, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day tasks and professional development
- Oversee the work of the team, ensuring that projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with the branch's strategic goals
- Conduct complex analyses of branch data, including statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and qualitative research, to support decision-making
- Translate technical analysis results into accessible language, presentations, and reports for various audiences, including branch leadership, frontline staff, and other stakeholders
- Identify and recommend solutions for gaps or challenges in the broader data ecosystem, collaborating with appropriate staff to drive improvements
- Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures related to data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure consistency and efficiency across the branch
- Review and evaluate existing processes and procedures, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Identify operational issues and areas requiring action by analyzing branch performance data and related operational trends
- Conduct research and environmental scans to support the completion of Council reports, establish benchmarks, and inform branch operations
- Collaborate with other work units to gather, interpret, and analyze a wide variety of data to support branch operational needs
- Lead or support branch-wide projects, such as the implementation of new software or process improvement initiatives
- Prepare reports and presentations related to Branch data, such as Enterprise Performance Management Quarterly Reports
- Stay informed about current and emerging data practices, technologies, and methodologies to ensure the branch's analytical approaches remain effective and innovative
