Description

Join our team as a Strategic Coordinator and become a key advisor to the Branch Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies, managing complex issues, and overseeing critical initiatives and projects. This high-impact role requires significant independence and involves handling assignments with political sensitivity, confidentiality, and broad stakeholder engagement, including Council and Corporate Leadership Teams. You will drive organizational success through cross-functional collaboration, strategic guidance, and the creation of essential documents like business plans, briefings, and reports, while also providing valuable leadership and mentorship to the administrative support team.

What will you do?

  • Define and coordinate overall strategic plans to ensure alignment with Branch goals, including business plans, briefings, organizational planning and presentations
  • Provide leadership, research, analysis, monitoring and recommendations on a wide variety of strategic issues at the Branch and corporate levels
  • Write and consolidate reports for Council, Committee, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), ensuring content is clear, concise, and meets professional standards
  • Review and provide direction on Council and Committee reports for content completeness, and prepare information packages for the Branch Manager
  • Identify, research and implement strategic issues and recommendations on behalf of the Branch Manager
  • Lead complex, confidential, and politically sensitive projects from conceptualization through planning, implementation, monitoring, and coordination
  • Act as a Branch representative on City committees and teams, and foster working relationships with internal and external partners across the organization and community
  • Organize and coordinate Branch initiatives and participate in developing the Branch's vision, mission, values, strategies, and long-term goals
  • Serve as a principal consultant and advisor on problem formulation, solution strategies, and evaluation of outcomes
  • Provide oversight, leadership, and mentorship to the administrative support team, including career development support and monitoring employee engagement
