The new EPS position will serve as a strategic role, managing the intake of civil forfeiture files while ensuring adherence to CFO guidelines, policies, and procedures. The Civil Forfeiture Coordinator will be responsible for managing all civil forfeiture intake requests within EPS, ensuring they align with organizational and legislative requirements. Additionally, the role will focus on collaborating with the CFO and other external strategic partners to respond to information requests from the CFO, fostering and strengthening relationships to ensure seamless coordination and effective case management, responsibilities of this position will include:

• Develops guidelines for members to follow when preparing files for Civil Forfeiture.
• Reviews police reports to identify cases that meet referral guidelines and to submit suitable EPS files to the CFO for further action.
• Consults with CFO, as the Primary Stakeholder, to confirm the file is ready for transfer.
• Is responsible for transferring the electronic file to the CFO.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to improve processes. 
• Leads in developing the strategy, framework and the operational implementation of the program.
• Acts as the point of contact and the subject matter expert for the organization on civil forfeiture matters.
• The coordinator focuses on implementing and managing administrative and operational efficiencies to prevent delays in the civil forfeiture referral process
• The coordinator also provides civil forfeiture training and presentations to equip EPS officers with the knowledge needed to navigate the civil forfeiture process.
• By leveraging expertise in policing, investigations, proceeds of crime, and offence-related property, the coordinator supports officers in distinguishing between civil and criminal forfeiture, identifying appropriate cases for civil forfeiture, and facilitating referrals to the CFO
