
Description
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Sustainable Procurement Lead, working in partnership with a co-lead, is a change agent for City Council, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and the Corporate Procurement and Supply Services (CPSS) leadership team. This role is responsible for managing all phases of the processes and systems that support the implementation of the City's Sustainable Procurement Policy C556C. The Sustainable Procurement Lead provides governance and corporate oversight, directing internal CPSS staff and city-wide branches.
What will you do?
- Lead development and implementation of the City's Sustainable Procurement Policies
- Develop strategic sustainability plans integrated with organizational goals and regulatory compliance
- Drive program enhancement through the execution and operationalization of strategic activities
- Create and implement short-term and long-term action plans with clear deliverables
- Ensure supplier and other interested parties'alignment with sustainability program principles
- Achieve sustainability goals, supporting Social, Indigenous, Local Procurement, and SME initiatives
- Develop and implement sustainable supply chain standards and policies (e.g., Social Procurement, Indigenous Procurement)
- Incorporate ESG and JEDI principles into the CPSS sustainability program
- Advise internal partners on specialized sustainable procurement activities
- Represent CPSS on corporate committees and build relationships with internal/external parties
