One temporary full-time position for up to 8 months, intended for a student currently enrolled in a business or technology co-op or equivalent post-secondary work experience degree program.

Reporting to the Waste Services Operational Training Supervisor, the student will provide automation support in developing and maintaining critical resource systems for a comprehensive centralized internal training program. The student will be providing meaningful and impactful work towards developing code for automations within a complex resource infrastructure, and succession planning through developing manuals for these processes. The student will also be providing general support for the training needs of the Branch.

What will you do?

  • Input training data into spreadsheets and LMS
  • Standardize digital and paper documents into master templates
  • Migrate training data and materials to our new LMS
  • Use Google Workspace and other tools to develop code (JavaScript, Formulas in Google Sheet, and Python) and automate training processes and reporting, streamline training and learning systems
  • Create programs, forms, and documents for data analytics and visualization, as well as automation
  • Design, test, and implement automation and applications to enhance training processes
  • Develop apps/games for training and automate learning communications
  • Develop and maintain manuals and SOPs for automation processes
  • Offer digital support for online training sessions
  • Support the Waste Services training team with digital tasks such as: creating and updating forms, documents, and spreadsheets digitally, including; filing and document retention, tracking documents, document management, calendar scheduling, email management, and training maintenance
  • Perform any other related duties as needed
