Job Description

This position will report to the Senior Analyst over Admissions. The incumbent will assist in the Admission Module and support front office management. This position will be assigned to the Charleston Campus and will be expected to work under limited supervision on assigned projects in support of the Senior Analyst. The incumbent will be required to become proficient in the software used by the office including the student information system (PeopleSoft), customer relationship management (greymatter), and other office applications. Daily attendance and punctuality are expected, as is, effective written and oral communication, and superior customer service.  The incumbent will demonstrate support for an inclusive environment that fosters lasting connection, shared investment, pride, and goodwill across our CSN community.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Quickly resolve admissions applications suspended in the admissions application staging file.

  • Verify possible matches to the application and check and resolve errors that prevent the application from automatically processing.

  • Complete quality control checks to reduce/prevent fraudulent files from coming through. 

  • Contact potential and previous students to verify information to prevent duplicate records or the merging of separate records.

  • Add “Bio-Demo” and “Potential Fraud” service indicators when there is a name, date of birth, or social security number mismatch on applications matched to previous students.

  • Manage assigned email accounts to resolve problems in the admissions application process.

  • Research and find solutions to issues pertaining to the admissions application process.

  • Prepare reports using spreadsheets to summarize statistical data pertaining to admissions for review by internal and external entities.

  • Provide support to the CRM System. Including assisting in testing of upgrades and enhancements that pertain to Admissions module.

  • Greet and direct visitors.

  • Respond to inquiries, complaints and requests for information from students.

  • Answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls.

  • Manage appointment booking calendars for recruiters.

  • Process admission application deferral requests

  • Webpage management.

  •  Assist with office operational needs as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Weekly Schedule

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

Starting Salary

Grade 27, Step 1 - $46,207.44

Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
