Pharmacy Technician - Full Time (Medication History)
Huntsville Memorial Hospital

As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Medication History Technician with CPS Solutions LLC, you will be responsible for the accurate medication history of patients admitted to Huntsville Memorial Hospital. This position does provide direct patient care and has access to confidential patient and financial information as well as medications, both controlled and non-controlled. You will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Schedule: This position will work a variety of day shifts and rotating weekends and holidays. Shift times are 7:00am-3:30pm,8:30am-5:00pm and 11:30am-8:00pm. Every other weekend and holidays rotation, hours are 7:30am-4:00pm. Part of the shift will be dedicated to collecting medication histories for new admissions, and part of the shift will be dedicated to traditional pharmacy dispensing activity. Workload will be dependent on number of new patients requiring a medication history completed, as well as the hospital census.

About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-8:00pm and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 7:30am-4:00pm.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hospital and retail experience preferred
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
  • Sterile IV Certification obtained through an ACPE accredited provider or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office 
  • The ability to communicate with a wide variety of people, including patients, family members, and healthcare professionals
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements (may be required): 

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months, annually
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th, annually
