Pharmacy Technician - Full Time

As a full time, nonexempt, CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Technician at UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla in Carolina, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week on a rotating shift scheduled (6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, 9am-6pm & 12pm-9pm). This position will also work 2 weekends per month and holidays.
Starting Pay: $12.50 per hour
About the Facility: The UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla, is a Joint Commission accredited facility that is licensed for 250 beds, consisting of 93 beds for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, 50 beds for Pediatrics, 45 beds for Surgical Services, 20 beds for Psychiatry and 42 beds for Obstetrics & Gynecology. The average daily inpatient census runs between 125-150. More than 10,000 patients are admitted per year to the Hospital's different services. This hospital is a teaching site for UPR medical residents and is the primary practice site for UPR pharmacy students. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy is currently open from 6am-9pm Monday - Friday and 7am-4pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays. The pharmacy provides services to the following departments: Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Emergency Room, ICU, Nursery & NICU. HMS is the pharmacy order entry system along with CPOE. Upcoming pharmacy projects include an Omnicell implementation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or retail pharmacy
- Puerto Rico Pharmacy Technician Licensure & Certification in good standing
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
- Must reside in Puerto Rico
- Must speak fluent Spanish
Hospital Requirements: (may be required)
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
- Hep B3 Series (or declination)
- (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
- COVID Vaccine-Full
