Specialty Pharmacy Technician/Liaison - Full Time
WTH Jackson Madison County General Hospital Specialty Pharmacy
Jackson, TN

As a full time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacy Technician/Liaison you will provide customer service and expertise to patients, providers and team members regarding specialty pharmacy enrollment, prescription processing, benefits inquiries, prescription status inquiries, and any other question as it pertains to their account. This includes communicating with the clinic staff to obtain the number of patients scheduled for appointments, determining their insurance coverage by accessing the electronic medical record (EMR) greeting the patients and providing verbal and written information about the specialty pharmacy program. Working in the pharmacy as needed will also be a requirement for this position. The Specialty Pharmacy Liaison Technician works under the direct supervision of the Director of Specialty Pharmacy.   

Schedule: This position will work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.

Starting Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on work experience 

About the Facility: Jackson - Madison County General Hospital is a 642 bed non-profit tertiary care center servicing 17 counties in West Tennessee. The facility has 6 main treatment centers: Heart and Vascular Center, Cancer Center, Neuroscience and Spine Center as well as Emergency Services.  CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this department. About the Pharmacy: The Specialty Pharmacy utilizes PioneerRx. Pharmacy is open 8:30am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Recent experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • Tennessee Pharmacy Technician Registration REQUIRED
  • Recent work experience in working with pharmacy preauthorizations/payors
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th  
  • COVID Vaccine
