  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Clinic Nurse provides direct patient care and continually strives to attain the highest quality of care. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assisting the physician and/or advanced practice clinician ensuring total quality care for the patient. The nurse will perform functions of a laboratory testing personnel and work closely with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Lab to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures for obtaining specimens. Clinic nurse shall collect blood samples, perform laboratory tests, and submit results on specimens received and collected for laboratory analysis. Clinic nurse may perform, if licensed, limited functions in relation to radiology under the direction of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Director of Radiology or their representative. Clinic nurse will ensure compliance with Radiology state and federal regulations. Must be an independent self-starter able to take initiative.  They must work toward the achievement of the goals of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and CRMC-Longville.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education and Experience:
        • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 
    • License/Certificates:
        • RN License to practice in the State of Minnesota. 
        • American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
        • Optional:  State of Minnesota Limited Scope X-Ray Operator

        • For CLIA/COLA - Must provide a copy of highest diploma or degree attained.

      • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques gained through a variety of nursing experience.
      • Completion of specific education programs as recommended by the individual unit assigned.
      • Exemplifies self-direction with good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
      • Knowledge and compliance of state and federal accrediting agencies.
      • Detail oriented; high degree of accuracy.
      • Ability to properly operate all necessary equipment safely, efficiently and effectively.

  • ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients under the guidance of physician and nurse practitioner.
    • Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills, technology, and requirements in the changing health care environment.
    • Performs duties in accordance with physician's orders, the Clinics, and the Medical Center's policies, methods, and techniques, and cooperates with other departments and Medical Center personnel.
    • Recognizes symptoms, triages appropriately and notifies physician and/or nurse practitioner of patient's condition and status.
    • Practices and maintains high ethical standards including patient confidentiality.
    • Actively participates in training programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel.
    • Laboratory orientation and training appropriate to testing performed at CRMC-Longville.
    • Performs CLIA waived and moderately complex procedures according to standard protocols and procedures for macroscopic urinalysis, qualitative urine HQ, beta strep screen, infectious mono test, sedimentation rate, stool for occult blood, whole blood glucose, protime/INR (i-STAT), BMP Troponin (i-STAT), Influenza, trichomonas, CBC.
    • Performs clerical tasks as needed: logs specimen into system, charging, answering telephones, giving out test results or other information to authorized individuals.
    • Identifies unusual results or abnormalities and reports to appropriate personnel their findings.
    • Follows established guidelines for weekly, monthly and annual quality control assurance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
    • Identifies discrepancies, takes prompt action to assure accuracy and refers unsolved discrepancies to clinic manager or Medical Technologist.
    • Perform radiology duties, if licensed, as designated by clinic manager and director of radiology.
    • Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $36.50 to $40.29. Actual pay rate offered depends on many factors including each individual employee's experience level, preferred education/certifications, along with market conditions.
