A Day in the Life of an NP in Oncology
Our Oncology Advanced Practice Provider works closely with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver exceptional care to individuals with hematology/oncology diagnoses. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and managing complications of chemotherapy administration The role involves both outpatient follow-up care and continuity of care across various settings, from hospital to home health. You will play a key part in symptom management, genetic counseling, and survivorship care. Daily collaboration with providers and nurses ensures seamless, patient-centered care.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
- Master's degree (MSN) in nursing from an accredited NP program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
- Current state licensure and Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Minnesota in good standing required
- Current DEA certificate or Minnesota Nurse Practitioner License. Oncology certification required within two year of hire (or an equivalent)
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification required
- Five years professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting with 1-2 years in a nurse practitioner role or 1-2 years in an Oncology Nurse Practitioner role
- NP specialization in Acute Care or Oncology
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range listed above is the estimated starting pay range for this role. Please keep in mind that the actual pay rate offered could be higher for some candidates depending on many factors including each individual employee's experience level and/or preferred education or certifications.
