Duties
The City of Loma Linda is a scenic community located within eyesight of the towering peaks of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains. Loma Linda is located approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles in San Bernardino County. While it is near the highly developed job market of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, it does provide a small town setting for your home, work or recreation. Adjacent to California's Interstate 10 freeway, Loma Linda is freeway close to beaches, mountains and desert resorts.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage patients on the inpatient coronary care unit that includes daytime and night-time call.
- See patients in outpatient specialty clinics.
- Perform cardiology consultations in inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Participate in noninvasive cardiac procedures (ECG, stress testing, Holter and event monitoring, echocardiograms).
- Administrative duties will include development and implementation of cardiac-specific inpatient flow and management protocols.
- Collaborate with other services to improve cardiology-specific hospital-wide inpatient metrics.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with variable tour of duty during on-call weeks.
Tour of duty: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, no on-call or weekends. Alternative work schedule may be available, to include part-time appointments.
Salary: $310,000- $370,000
Candidates must: 1) be a US citizen or PRA (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with [38 U.S.C. § 7407(a)]; 2) possess a current, full, unrestricted medical license in any state, 3) board eligible/certified in Cardiology, and 4) verify COVID and Flu vaccination.
Preferred experience: Best qualified candidates will be Board Certified in Cardiology.
