Description

The North Little Rock VA Medical Center is seeking a dynamic, board-certified Optometry Cheif to lead our Optometry Service and provide exceptional care to our nation's Veterans. This is a full-time, permanent position located at our North Little Rock campus, part of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Optometry Service, ensuring the highest quality of care and compliance with VA policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive eye care services, including routine eye exams, diagnosis, and management of ocular diseases.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including ophthalmologists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee the training and mentoring of optometry students and residents.
  • Develop and implement clinic policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in facility committees and contribute to the development of new programs and services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of advancements in optometry and ensure staff is up-to-date with the latest practices and technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program.
  • Active state licensure to practice optometry.
  • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • A passion for serving Veterans and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
