The Alexandria VA Medical Center in Alexandria/Pineville, LA, is seeking a full-time, BC, Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician to serve its Chief of Primary Care. Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $232,000 - $315,000
  • Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm., NO CALL
  • Responsible for direct patient care, clinical work, oversight, and administration of all aspects of primary care, in the outpatient setting (Alexandria VA Health Care Systems and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC); i.e. Ft. Johnson CBOC, Lafayette CBOC, Jennings CBOC, Natchitoches CBOC, and Lake Charles CBOC), as well as administrative duties related to the successful operation of the Primary Care (PACT) service line
  • Supervises the administrative leads and support staff. Must work closely with clinical leadership at all locations
  • Consistently communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner
  • Provides Oversight of residency and fellowship program
Additional Requirements:
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine
  • Demonstrated clinical experience and at least 1-year supervisory leadership required
  • Exceptional computer and communication skills required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
