Responsibilities
As a Neurology Section Chief, you will lead and manage the Neurology department while providing high-quality clinical care to our Veteran population. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Duties:
- Organizing staff meetings and facilitating effective communication.
- Acting as the Service Chief in their absence.
- Collaborating with HR for recruitment, updates on position descriptions, and pay panel preparations.
- Evaluating performance through routine ratings and proficiency reports.
- Managing promotions, disciplinary actions, and facilitating required training.
- Ensuring compliance with necessary health requirements and conducting peer reviews.
- Overseeing patient care delivery and ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Managing patient schedules, ensuring staff productivity and adherence to performance measures.
- Developing efficient systems for improving patient-centric care and quality oversight.
- Functioning as a liaison for education, ensuring effective training and supervision for residents and students.
- Identifying research opportunities and guiding research initiatives.
- Providing compassionate, effective care to promote health, prevent illness, and treat diseases.
- Demonstrating clinical judgment to optimize patient outcomes and improve care delivery.
To be considered for this rewarding position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Must pass a background/security investigation and may be required to serve a probationary period.
- Must be board-certified in Neurology and maintain clinical privileges.
