The Highlights: Under the supervision of Dir. of GR Adms, the Asst. Dir, is a critical member of the recruitment team, and responsible for the development and executing targeted recruitment activities and strategies designed to attract and enroll graduate students. This position will collaborate with the Director to help develop and coordinate efficient system recruitment functionalities. They are responsible for and to manage the student ambassador program, assist with international visa processing and coordinate communication for admitted students through a specialized platform. The Assistant Director also recruits, evaluates and participates in the selection of candidates for admission. Maintains liaisons with all organizations and individuals involved in the process.
Based in the Loop, this asst director will travel for recruitment and will work evenings and weekends as needed. This position will use PeopleSoft, Slate and Terra Dotta. The Asst. Dir. will collaborate with other University departments that support the CDM students and will proactively engage with prospective students, faculty and CDM colleagues critical in support of the recruitment and admission operations for the office.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement the management of a recruitment plan for a portfolio of degrees. The portfolio will be an inclusive plan to attract national and international prospects, applicants, admitted and enrolled students. Participate in off-campus recruiting events and information sessions. Facilitate appropriate targeted outreach efforts to affinity groups to support the enrollment goals of the CDM. Develop knowledge of the territory and the needs of the institutions and groups in the area. Collaborate with the CDM team to development processes to collect and analyze enrollment data to support decision-making and guide strategic recruitment initiatives.
- Manage the admission funnel through proactively reaching out and responding in a timely and accurate manner to all student inquiries by phone, e-mail, text, or in person. Proactively and professionally contact prospective students with incomplete applications. Ensure that admitted students are aware of the next steps involved in matriculation and enrollment. Review application files. Meet with prospective students to provide guidance in program selection and clarification of application process and admission requirements. Render admission decisions according to posted admission criteria. Manage admission process for faculty committees in programs which require committee level review.
- Actively participate in and provide oversight for CDM recruiting events including on-campus and preparing reports.
- Participates in professional development activities, technology training, and serves on college and university committees. Serve as lead for international visa processing & admitted student platform.
- Manage student ambassador program, a group of volunteer current students and manage the Lead Ambassadors/paid positions.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience, with preference given to candidates who have experience in graduate recruiting and admission.
- Demonstrated professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills are critical for success.
- Knowledge of recruiting and admission practices for graduate students..

- Skills and knowledge to develop and implement marketing and recruitment plans to enroll significant numbers of graduate students.
- Ability and desire to identify enrollment trends for graduate students.

- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, organizational and project management skills
- Strong group presentation skills

- Knowledge of a student system and/or recruitment database preferred.
