The Highlights:

Serves as the chief administrator of institutional Clery Act Compliance. Responsible for all aspects of preparing and distributing the Annual Safety and Security Information Report and Fire Safety Report, as well as maintaining its requisite and thorough audit trail. Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, the Clery Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with various offices at the University to ensure the institution's compliance with the annual report and associated regulations. Responsible for the reviewing and processing Public Safety reports on a daily basis and maintains the daily crime log for both campuses. Assists the Director and Associate Directors with special projects as requested. The position must ensure that the Clery report is reviewed annually and any necessary changes are made to remain compliant. The position is also the main administrative support person for the Director of Public Safety.
 
What You'll Do:

  • Develops the annual Campus Safety and Security Information Report and Fire Safety Report. Manages work with the Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance. Implements the requirement to submit the annual crime statistics to the Department of Education as required.  Reviews pending changes to the Clery Act and other laws or regulations affecting Clery Act provisions and implements any changes. 
  • Manages the review and edits of incident reports and assigns the proper Clery crime category on a daily basis. Works with the Associate Directors to ensure reports are classified accurately in the reporting system and dispatch report log. Manages, maintains, and updates entries for the Daily Crime and Fire Log and ensure that the log is printed on a daily basis. 
  • Manages the process and communicates with all internal and external entities from whom federal law requires DePaul gather its statistical data, consolidates relevant data from these sources with information and policies from across institutional departments, enacts biannual updates of and communication with the CSA list, issues requests for yearly CSA certifications, coordinates with the appropriate campus departments to ensure compliance with HEA Fire Safety regulations, researches external police entities both domestic and abroad for statistical requests, and compiles data from all these sources to generate thorough accurate statistical data. 
  • Disseminates confidential reports to key stakeholders, performs monthly reviews of digital and physical records, initiates yearly document purge, performs thorough background checks for various law enforcement entities, and reproduces incident reports for involved parties while redacting sensitive or identifying information as required. Compiles and publicizes crime data in several public facing mediums including crimes summaries published in the university newspaper; maintains current content & information on Public Safety website; contributes to responses to media requests. 
  • Develops and facilitates informational trainings to various populations within the university, including Campus Security Authorities, Public Safety Officers, employees at various levels of academic administration, and student employees, including Residential Advisors.  

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Three years of administrative experience required. One year Clery experience preferred.
  • Ability for independent work related decision making.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and communication skills; ability to manage projects simultaneously.
  • Computer experience required; proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability for objective evaluation and analysis of data.
