**Position Summary:** The RN is responsible for the provision of nursing services based on standards of care and professional nursing practice prescribed in nursing education, GHS orientation and education as well as GHS policy and protocol. The RN is accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered and is directly involved with the scheduling/coordination of invasive procedures with radiologists on a daily basis. Assignments will include direct interaction and communication with patients and their families in person, by telephone and/or e-mail and will involve gathering and collecting information regarding the procedures to be performed. The RN collaborates with referring physicians to provide resources and support as well as hospital services to appropriate patients. Implements processes to meet patients' needs, prevent pre-arrival barriers, and access proper resources for patients. This position is also responsible for coordinating patient clinical services. This includes aspects of treatment, evaluation, support services and education to patients. The RN coordinates clinical documentation from referring and treating physicians for each patient and is part of the collaborative efforts of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve specific outcomes and objectives over the continuum of care. This also includes meeting with patients to help and direct them through the healthcare system. In addition, the RN monitors on-going needs of patients to ensure efficient and effective access to services and apprises radiologists and supervisory personnel of patient(s) status; provides viable and innovative solutions to problems; attends meetings/training, adheres to approved policy/procedures, represents the hospital in a professional manner, makes effective presentations. The RN proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise. Attends hospital wide meetings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines as they pertain to Diagnostic Imaging Overall, the RN facilitates the guidance of individuals through the Diagnostic Imaging Department to ensure they understand their procedures, treatment and immediate follow up care after procedure and completes other direct service RN duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION** :
-Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), required.
-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), preferred.
**EXPERIENCE** :
- Previous experience in an acute care setting.
**LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION** :
-Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.
-American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case-by-case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.
-ACLS, preferred
**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES** :
-Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
-Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
-Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
-Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
**Physical Requirements: Physical Agility Testing (PAT) rating of "Medium"**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and will be measured by post offer PAT test.
