Description

The Long-Term Acute Care Registered Nurse provides planningand delivery of direct and indirect patient care to medically complex patientsin long-term acute settings.

Shift - Nights | 36 hours

Notes - 13 Week contract, Options of extending, Full time position, RN LTAC, Vent and Trach

Certifications: RN, BLS

Location: East Chicago, IN.

Local rate available 50/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirectpatient care

Responsible for providing care to medically complex patients

Supervises care, treatment, and services of the patient(s)

Documents the patient's plan of care using identifiednursing diagnosis, expected patient outcomes and selected nursing interventions

Maintains confidentiality at all times with patients,medical staff and co-workers

Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment

Adheres to and supports thepolicies/procedures/goals/objectives of the hospital in an attempt to providequality patient care

Revises plan of care according to evaluation, changes inplan of care and nursing interventions

Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and facility policies and patient care outcome standards

Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient carerequirements

Minimum Requirements:

Current RN license for the state in which the nursepractices in

One (1) year nursing experience in a long-term acute carefacility preferred

Experience in acute rehabilitation for vents, wound care,cardiac, and stable post trauma patients

Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
