Exciting news! We have an opening in our Payment Systems department here at EECU.

EECU is currently looking for a Payment Systems Representative I. The Payments Systems Representative I will be responsible for the delivery and processing of payments in ACH, wire transfers, check in-clearings and returns, mobile deposits, and debit/credit cards while also ensuring the execution of security procedures and controls associated with payment processing and maintaining compliance with all laws, regulations and the respective credit union policies, procedures, and standards.

The Payment Systems Representative also assists in the management and monitoring of the ATM/ITM fleet.


Some essential functions on this role:

-Ensure all check files are downloaded daily from the Federal Reserve and processed accurately in the core system. 

-Return all unposted items back to the Federal Reserve and work all incoming unposted items sent from the Federal Reserve.

-Process domestic and international incoming and outgoing wires, including performing OFAC checks

-Review mobile deposits for fraud, check validity, accuracy of amount on items.

-Process all ACH reports from each posting of inbound ACH files. Includes exceptions, tran code return processing, and return and balancing of unposted items.

-Process business ACH requests, member requests for EFT transfers, ACH stop payments, and unauthorized ACH requests. 

-Research deceased accounts for Federal Government benefits and processes returns from this research.

-Research and review ATM transactions to identify and detect fraud

-Ensure that all debit and credit cards are properly issued to members and assist retail operations and provide member support.


Candidates for EECU should possess the following knowledge and experience:

  • 1 – 2 years of back-office or member-facing financial institution experience preferred
  • Experience with Symitar and Springboard strongly preferred  
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain and resolve problems with the membership 
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and able to work with multiple interruptions 
  • Must have the ability to work with time constraints, hard deadlines and change of workflow 
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have Knowledge of third party software applications including but not limited to the following: Symitar, Image Center (Check 21), Alacriti, Patriot Officer, Ensenta EZAdmin (My Deposit/Mobile), EPS – Profit Stars (E-Deposit, Payment Wizard), and Fedline Advantage (Fed Payments Wire Manager and Check 21), Convera.
  • Required to access to a multitude of third party software and/or web portals that require specific and specialized program knowledge
  • Effective verbal and written communication with both external and internal members
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pay starting $17.50 based on experience

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Reg Z, Reg B, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training and Privacy Training.
