Description

The purpose of this position is to work with the Growth team and Market Leadership to provide day to day leadership, guidance, and accountability to Emerus development partners and Design Architect in the execution of new facilities.  This person will also be responsible for leading the design & construction strategy and ensuring Emerus remains at the forefront of construction delivery.



Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, design, real estate or similar work experience.
  • Five to ten years' experience in managing multiple projects in excess of $25M
  • Experience managing work through 3rd party partners; tracking KPIs and driving accountability to service level agreements
  • Working knowledge of health care construction codes, regulations and standards that impact design and construction
  • Ability to work across departments to achieve shared goals
  • Strong communication skills including executive-level communication
  • Ability to distill complex construction information in a way that is can be communicated simply to non-experts.
  • Ability to tailor communication style and content to diverse audiences
  • Working knowledge of construction project budgeting and accounting
  • Knowledge of Smart Sheet, Blue beam, Project, Visio, and the Office suite
  • Ability to independently manage tasks, time, and activities to achieve goals
  • Focus on continuous process improvement
  • High Attention to detail


Essential Job Functions

  • Manage day to day activities of the design consultant, such as site test fits, design development, and post occupancy evaluations
  • Coordinate with Design Architect and Emerus Subject Matter Experts to review and update the design standards as required; ensuring that the Emerus design standards are reflective of the current best practices and operational requirements for our facilities
  • Assist with procurement of vendors including developer and due diligence partners
  • Coordinate with development partners to maintain and update project information in Emerus systems
  • Interface with operational teams and market leadership to constantly improve the Emerus hospital design
  • Maintain and enforce design standards system
  • Manage project budgets to achieve operational EBITDA goals
  • Coordinate, document, and attend project meetings as required
  • Coordinate with real estate team and vendor partner as required to support development schedules
  • Manage and maintain project documents and records
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks to ensure compliance with schedule, budget, and business goals
  • Provide accountability for vendor partners including setting and measuring goals for planning, design, and project delivery, including corrective actions where required
  • Identify and execute opportunities for process / delivery improvement
  • Coordinate with VP, Real Estate and Asset Manager for site acquisition and lease handoff


Other Job Functions

  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Travel to all new facility locations as required to assess progress and generate reporting. Travel requirements may be up to 40%.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to work off-hours and on call when required
