Job Summary:
The Shirvan Family Live Well Center, located in downtown Englewood, will provide programming, education and hands on experience to members of the community at large. The Art Therapist will serve as a valued resource in providing education, practical and culturally appropriate guidance on using the arts to promote positive mental health and awareness. The therapist will provide motivating, high-quality virtual/in-person creative or expressive art programs to participants of the Live Well Center and surrounding community through programs and workshops. The Art Therapist is able to assess and support clients with a variety of therapeutic abilities through an array of workshop styles.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience working as an Art Therapist, working in art therapy counseling programs or specified fine arts.
  • Must possess the ability to provide clear and appropriate content with special consideration to the unique abilities for participants of all ages and demographics; both individually and as a group.
  • Ability to teach different forms of art therapy (i.e., art, dance, drama, music, etc).
  • Must possess strong presentation skills and ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Possess a charismatic personality and the ability to motivate participants to enjoy themselves and feel inspired.
  • Must have the strong ability to lead programs with cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Master's Degree (preferably in Art Therapy or Psychology).

 

Licensure, Certification, and Registrations:

  • American Art Therapy Association accreditation (AATA) preferred.
