Job Summary:
Responsible for training Patient Access staff, performing quality assurance, and monitoring payer denials. This position develops and edits training documentation as needed. Will conduct initial training with new staff members and provide ongoing classroom and side-by-side training for staff members on identified trends and concerns, was well as policies and procedures. Will maintain and update Patient Access related policies and procedures as necessary. Will maintain Quality Auditing materials and program to ensure consistent staff performance improvement. Will also regularly review denials and provide coaching to staff to ensure optimum financial performance. Reports to the Director of Patient Access. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards in daily interactions.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Ability to read and write in order to review accounts and prepare noncomplex reports reflecting quality audit and denials activities and deal effectively with various personnel.
  • Approximately two years of related work experience is necessary in order to gain full knowledge of information required to complete patient registrations.
  • Interpersonal skills in order to effectively train/coach staff members and interact with all levels of Medical Center staff, physicians, patients, insurance companies, etc. as necessary.
  • Analytical skills in order to resolve difficult problems and make recommendations regarding policies and procedures as well as interpret the same.
  • Typing and computer skills necessary.

 

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
