The Desktop Architecture Specialist will be primarily responsible for Application/Software Packaging. You will also lead workstation operating system/3rd party patching of workstations on a bi-monthly basis. Key technical areas and tools: Application/Software Packaging, Workstation patching/3rd party patching Configuration Manager, Intune, Autopilot, , Endpoint Automation, Workstation patching/3rd party patching, VMWare, ControlUp, Device driver updating, Ivanti.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform application automation in the form of application scripting, software packaging, and virtualization.
- Application installation automation, documentation, testing, and reporting for applications.
- Work with Helix ticketing to resolve issues.
- Performing 3rd tier workstation support for IT personnel and the user community
- This position will be the primary contact for issue escalation for Desktop Support, Support center and Cyber Security.
- Collaborate with employees, application owners, software developers, and venders to address any escalated user issues.
- Experience and use transparency to build trust with team members to achieve technology objectives around Windows.
- Automate and deploy settings, software, and updates to multiple workstations across a distributed network.
- Directly troubleshoot issues and work on challenging IT related projects in a professional ethical organization.
Requirements
The candidate should meet the following qualifications:
- 5 days a week onsite at our facility in NW Houston. 24hr support phone rotation.
- 2 to 5 years 2nd and 3rd tier application and workstation support experience with Windows client administration.
- Engineering or Petro-chemical industry experience preferred.
- Degree in MIS, CS, CIS, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree recommended.
- Experience supporting Dell and HP business class workstations.
- Recent endpoint focused certification preferred.
- Write, use and test Powershell scripts for automation.
- CM/Intune/Admin Studio/Ivanti/App Deploy toolkit /MSIX package and patch deployment experience a plus
- Active Directory experience with Users and Computer, security, group policy, and DFS-R
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to share or train IT personnel on new technologies and processes.
- Able to multitask and work to deadlines
