Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The Senior Contract Analyst's primary function is to support commodities marketing groups and related asset activities for NGL Marketing, Refined Products Marketing, Petchem Marketing, Enterprise Unregulated NGL Assets and others.  The Senior Contract Analyst is accountable for ensuring an effective execution of many work processes and controls, which require a thorough understanding of various contract administration functions such as pricing analysis, contract analysis, commercial strategies, technology solutions, legal consultation and more.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with various asset and marketing groups to ensure a complete understanding of originated transactions such as Y-grade, wholesale propane, exports, refined products and others necessary to ensure contractual terms are accurately reflected in the transaction systems on a timely basis.
  • Monitor and enter daily asset and marketing transactions into the RightAngle system.
  • Process, review and coordinate contracts, confirmations, amendments, exhibits and correspondence for various types of asset and marketing agreements.
  • Draft contracts, amendments or exhibits by applying the established terms and conditions as negotiated by Marketing or Legal.
  • Facilitate the calculation of pricing index formulas, provisions and averages necessary for cash settlement of commodity purchases, sales, exchanges and service agreements.
  • Maintain tariff and rate updates in RightAngle for a variety of pipelines, storage terminals, trucking, rail, marine and other midstream services for Enterprise, joint venture and third party assets.
  • Ensure negotiated prices, escalations, discounts or premiums have been properly authorized and calculated according to contractual requirements.
  • Ensure that all pricing impacts are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Proactively champion initiatives to develop agile and robust price provision architectural solutions (i.e. escalation, complex nested pricing statements, etc.).
  • Lead the development, implementation and rigorous testing plans that are highly effective and well documented.
  • Ensure asset, marketing and affiliated asset transactions (i.e. storage, fractionation, blending, logistics, processing, outright, etc.) have been properly authorized in accordance to the Transaction Authorities and Limits (“TA Forms”) defined in the Commodity Risk Management Policy and Management Authorization Policy (“MAP”) and that all terms and conditions are accurately captured in the RightAngle transactional system.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to other contract analysts in developing contract and professional skills in assigned functions.
  • Assist in the identification, development and implementation of new contract policies, processes and control objectives.
  • Professional interactions with Commercial, Marketing, Distribution, Accounting, Legal, Scheduling, Audit, external customer and others is key to successful performance in this position.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX standards in documentation and tracking of contract preparation, maintenance and reporting processes.
  • Complete, accurate and timely responses to various internal and external requests to ensure all appropriate actions are taken and/or communicated to personnel.


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics or related technical discipline is required. 
  • 4 years of experience in contract administration, pricing, purchasing, procurement or related experience. 
  • Detailed knowledge of liquids and hydrocarbon marketing activity is preferred.
  • The ability to grasp and accurately communicate complex transactions and models to varying levels of the organization while highlighting pertinent information for target audience.
  • Detailed knowledge of physical commodity derivative and non-derivative transactions.
  • Strong computer skills in Power Point, Word, Outlook and Document Scanning Software, including advanced proficiency in Excel is required while extensive experience performing data mining, modeling and data analysis with Excel is preferred.
  • Experience with an ETRM system like ION Endur, ION Right Angle or Sungard and reporting platforms like Business Objects is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to work hours needed to meet critical reporting and project deadlines.  Must be reliable.
  • A strong desire to obtain intimate knowledge and understanding of the company's assets, defined risk management objectives, work processes and system portfolio and strategy structures is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to create and present presentations to leadership, ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to the operations as a whole are necessary to be successful.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience with commodity marketing or trading (e.g. petrochemicals, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, refined products, etc.)
  • 4 years of experience in an energy sector (e.g. exploration, marine, truck transportation, refinery, etc.)
  • 4 years of experience with an Energy Trading Risk Management (“ETRM”) systems like ION Endur, ION RightAngle, Sungard Energy, ION Triple Point XL Commodity, etc. and reporting platforms like Business Objects
  • 1 years of experience performing data mining, modeling and data analysis within Excel
