
Description
The Senior Cost Coordinator works under the direction of the department manager and/or project manager and provides functional and management support on cost control activities for onshore and/or offshore capital growth projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Retrieve and distribute actual cost figures from Property Accounting reports for all assigned projects.
- Assist and support project managers in the commercial administration, status reporting, invoice reconciliation, and cost forecasting of contracts and subcontracts.
- Keep logs and perform project cost re-distributions, invoice generation, and journal voucher requests for submittal to accounting by interfacing with accounts receivables and treasury departments.
- Document management responsibilities of opening and closing projects for engineering and commercial departments.
- Coordinate and review change orders and associated cost to complete estimates for projects.
- Participate in estimate/bid reviews.
- Ensure that Project Control deliverables are satisfied and Project Control Systems are properly implemented in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist cost control analysts in the processing of invoices by ensuring proper coding, receiving, routing for approval, and ensuring guidelines are followed.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is required. An Engineering or Construction Science degree is preferred.
- A Master's in Business Administration is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a project cost engineer or cost controller is preferred.
- Project cost management in either engineering, procurement/fabrication, or construction efforts is required.
- Experience with baseline and control budgets, project code of accounts, actual cost tracking, cost forecasting, identification and estimation of cost trends, cost change management, variance management, and cashflow analysis is required.
- Oil and gas industry large projects (over $50 million) experience is required.
- Experience and understanding of project related construction manpower forecasts, earned value reporting, and performance measurement reporting.
- Basic understanding of project planning, scheduling, and progress measurement is preferred.
- A solid knowledge of Project Controls Systems and processes in engineering, procurement, and construction project environments is required.
- Ability to work and interface with numerous people from different departments at the same time.
- Expert level in using Microsoft Excel, and Access database management and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point software is required.
- Primavera and Microsoft Project software experience is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
