What You Will Get To Do:

SS&C is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Sell Side Commercial Policy team supporting the SS&C Eze and SS&C Financial Markets Group Financial Markets Group (FMG) business units in its Chicago office. This role supports business processes for broker-dealers using our products and services, including the FIXLink FIX Routing Network and MarketTrader Order Management System, with a focus on the areas of billing, reporting, and data analysis. In this position, the Business Analyst will work closely with the Account Management and Operations teams, and various other stakeholders across the organization. This is a role where the successful candidate will be encouraged to work closely with various teams, including senior leaders.

As a member of the team, the Business Analyst will help maintain and improve existing processes and systems and will work collaboratively with various internal departments to facilitate day-to-day business workflows. The role will allow an individual to gain a deep knowledge of the investment process, and of SS&C's strong presence as a leader in providing best-in-class technology solutions to the trading community. To be successful in this role, and on this team, the candidate must possess a strong sense of integrity, a willingness to step into the unfamiliar, and be someone on whom their teammates can rely.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the SS&C Eze and SS&C FMG business models and the internal data sources used to maintain its daily operations
  • Use Salesforce and Excel to produce and deliver data essential to accurate billing
  • Work closely with the Account Management and Finance teams to help facilitate monthly billing and reporting processes
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to demonstrate levels of business success and forecast returns on business initiatives.
  • Leverage software, data visualization, and data warehousing tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Snowflake/SQL to perform and present a variety of periodic and ad-hoc analyses
  • Develop sound familiarity with internal processes and systems used to manage our business and apply that understanding to ensure we are managing our operations consistently
  • Routinely monitor projects to assess and communicate status and performance
  • Collaborate with other Operations groups within the organization to enhance modeling and reporting capabilities
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the organization, including Account Management, Sales, Service, Legal, Business Applications and Finance personnel
  • Provide general support related to FMG Business Operations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice issues
  • Evaluate and improve upon existing processes and procedures for business operations
  • Build, update, and maintain various platforms for knowledge-sharing across the organization

What You Will Bring:

  • BS or BA Degree
  • 1-2 years of applicable work experience
  • Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills are critical
  • Experience performing analysis in Excel and producing reports & dashboards required
  • Experience with Salesforce data and reporting preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft M (Power Query), Excel Power Pivot, DAX preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Snowflake/SQL
  • Ability to learn quickly, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, manage multiple competing projects and deliverables, and quickly realign priorities to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with large datasets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
