Description

Responsible for assisting in the administration of First Commonwealth's Employee Benefits Plans and Leave of Absence Policies. Additional duties include supporting the employee benefits area with daily administrative deadlines and providing guidance and assistance to employees relative to benefit needs.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Assists with the coordination of benefit enrollment information within the HRIS system to/from payroll and participants.

2. Maintains the records, files and reporting information for all Employee Benefit Plans including Group Plans (Life/ADD, LTD, STD), Health Insurance, and Voluntary Benefits.

3. Works with the Benefits team and appropriate vendors to accurately process related information for Leave of Absence (LOA) plans, such as Short-Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), Workers' Compensation and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Accommodated Time Away from Work (ATW) under ADA. 

4. Assists the Benefits team with the maintenance and reporting of 401(k) records and coordinating the flow of 401(k) information from payroll and participants to the record keeper.

5. Performs monthly account reconcilements and quarterly audits for assigned plans. 

6. Assists the Benefits team in working with the COBRA vendor to provide administration for various benefit plans.

7. Guides employees and plan participants on answers to questions pertaining to their benefit plans and provisions.

8. Maintains confidential information.

9. Serves as backup to Senior Benefits Administrator and Assistant Benefits Manager as needed.

10. Assists with special projects (research and analysis) and open enrollment (annually).

11. Reviews administrative policies and benefit procedures annually.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent is required.

2. A minimum of one (1) year work related experience is required.

3. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and Excel.

4. Proficient reading, writing and grammar skills and strong analytical and mathematical skills are required.

5. A valid driver's license and occasional travel are required.

6. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
