To train, educate, and retain future leaders in mortgage loan origination for the future betterment of the bank and communities in which First Commonwealth serves. As well as creating sustainable contingency plans for existing books of business, pipelines, referral sources, and longevity of senior partner mortgage loan originators. Resulting in an efficient and effective progression for those individuals deemed qualified for a career in loan origination in making them subject matter experts as well as a foundation of the own individual book of business.
As a part of this multi-year program, Junior Lender will be active value adding member of loan origination team assigned to a specific Senior (Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer (of VP status or greater). Junior will operate as an extension of assigned Senior in all business generating activity.
Essential Job Responsibilities
As a part of this multi-year program, Junior Lender will be active value adding member of loan origination team assigned to a specific Senior (Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer (of VP status or greater).
Junior will operate as an extension of assigned Senior in all business generating activity including, but not limited to the work consisting of:
• Administrative / Back End Office Work – data entry, data analysis, file management, and general assistance
• Client Relationship – calling, assisting, fielding questions and maintaining relationship with current and prior clients through all aspects that can generally be assumed to be part of the mortgage loan process
• COI Relationship – add value and strengthen relationships with assigned Senior COIs including general day to day work, entertainment and overall team experience
• Assistance in Loan Origination – add intellectual input on designing loans, proper use of applicable products and effectively solving problems that may arise
Junior will also be responsible for growing and maintaining a constant stream of new business in lieu of one day being on their own receiving guidance, advice, and overall industry specific insight from the assigned Senior. This work includes but is not limited to:
• Targeting and Prospecting – identify and grow relationships with new COIs in effort to attract additional business through value added activity establishing true mutualistic partnership
• Loan Origination Activity – meet and consult with potential clients in effort to pre-qualify, take application, and close loans
• Client Relationship – maintain contact when applicable with former clients to identify potential ways to continually service
• Junior will also be responsible in identifying opportunities to cross sell internally for both their accounts and those of the Senior in which they are assigned.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications
1. Must register and maintain current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). The NMLS website (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be adaptable while working in a fast paced environment.
3. Exceptional time management ability is critical, as are communication and organizational skills.
4. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel regionally.
