Description

Performs accounting and tax related responsibilities for multiple state and federal tax returns and provides support for the financial reporting area.  Responsible for developing and maintaining reports and data necessary for calculation and filing of state and federal income taxes.  Responsible for processing all tax payments and preparation of related journal entries, including intercompany payments. Assists in providing third party tax preparers with information and data needed to complete tax calculation.  

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Process various state and federal corporate tax payments and prepare related journal entries, including intercompany allocation.

  2. Develop and maintain the Company's tax database for state and federal filings.

  3. Develop and maintain reports and data used in the calculation of state and federal taxes. This includes use of the Company's data warehouse and general ledger systems.

  4. Responsible for monitoring all tax deadlines to ensure timely processing and completion of required payments and filings.

  5. Responsible for the processing and monitoring of all tax credit purchases.

  6. Works with third party tax preparers to ensure all requested information is provided as needed.

  7. Assists the financial reporting group with the preparation of internal and external regulatory reports.

  8. Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments.

  9. Assists in compiling information for internal auditors, external auditors or examiners as requested.

  5. Responsible for adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, anti-money laundering and terrorism financing detection, information security and overall safety and soundness.
  6. Assumes responsibility for assisting in his/her professional development; adheres to the guidelines and targets established within his/her Personal Scorecard.
  7. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to insure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  8. Complies with established budgets and operates within budgetary constraints.
  9. Other job-related duties as assigned or directed.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of equivalent experience in accounting related positions.   

2. Experience with financial operations systems is preferred. 

3. Proficiency in the following: knowledge of Microsoft Office software, analytical or mathematical skills, and communications and interpersonal relations are required.
