Overview:
We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Location Manager to provide operational leadership, ensure contract compliance, and build strong relationships with customers, employees, and stakeholders. In this role, you will oversee multiple locations and contracts, lead diverse teams, and drive operational and financial excellence. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in transportation services while mentoring future leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Provide oversight of day-to-day operations across multiple locations, including safety, dispatch, fleet maintenance, scheduling, facility management, and customer relations.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for school officials, parents, and community members. Proactively address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure delivery of high-quality service that exceeds contractual expectations.
- Team Development: Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor employees. Build a high-performing team through effective leadership, coaching, and professional development initiatives. Foster an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
- Financial Oversight: Manage location budgets, analyze financial performance, and identify areas for cost optimization. Develop action plans to address variances and achieve financial goals. Support charter growth and local revenue opportunities.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety policies and environmental standards. Oversee safety initiatives and incident reporting, ensuring a safe environment for employees and passengers.
- Strategic Planning: Anticipate resource needs, including addressing driver shortages, and collaborate with Corporate Recruiting to develop effective hiring strategies. Plan and execute operational improvements to support long-term goals.
- Union Relations (if applicable): Administer collective bargaining agreements, address grievances, and participate in negotiations with union officials in collaboration with regional leadership.
- Community Engagement: Represent the company in community events, build relationships with local stakeholders, and champion initiatives that promote a positive company image.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma or equivalent required).
- 5+ years of management experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or operations.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with timekeeping, payroll, and Smart technology systems is a plus.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Office and bus yard environment, with occasional on-the-road duties.
- Requires mobility to navigate between office areas, utilize standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person or via phone.
