Job SummaryMotion Controls International (MCi), a Flex company, is the global market leader in mirror glass and power-folding actuators. As part of our continued growth, MCi is expanding its portfolio into advanced automotive actuation solutions, including Active Aerodynamics and Motor Cooling Management systems.
To support our continued growth and the development of next-generation automotive actuation products, we are looking for a Hardware Integration Engineer to join our team in Woerden, Netherlands.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the hardware development lifecycle, from requirements definition through integration, validation, and production support. You will work on automotive actuator systems involving motors, sensors, microcontrollers, electronics, and embedded systems, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary Agile teams to deliver robust and high-quality hardware solutions. What a typical day looks like- Define, manage, and maintain hardware requirements and traceability.
- Support electronic hardware architecture, schematic design, and PCB review activities.
- Select and evaluate components such as microcontrollers, sensors, motor drivers, transceivers, and power devices.
- Work on motor and actuator development, including DC and BLDC motor applications.
- Perform hardware/software integration, debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Support verification, validation, EMC, and reliability testing activities.
- Build, modify, and validate prototype circuits, test setups, harnesses, and development fixtures.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators for bench-level troubleshooting.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate closely with Product Owners and engineering stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware or automotive electronics development.
- Experience with microcontroller-based embedded systems and actuator applications.
- Strong knowledge of hardware requirements engineering, analog and digital circuit design, and component selection.
- Hands-on experience in electronics assembly, bring-up, debugging, hardware prototyping, PCB testing, soldering/rework, and prototype validation.
- Ability to develop and execute hardware verification, integration, and validation tests for motors, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces such as LIN, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, LIN, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, DC and BLDC motor control, and hardware/software integration.
- Knowledge of automotive development processes; ASPICE experience is preferred.
