The “Import / Export Analyst” will be based in Memphis, TN . The potential candidate will be in charge of providing operational expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the department by establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, liaising with operations, customers, and carriers to ensure customer satisfaction and to deliver maximum advantage to the business.
Provide operational expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the department by managing import/export processes and bonded warehouse operations. This includes maintaining strong customer relationships, coordinating with customs and logistics partners, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
What a typical day looks like:
Import Compliance
- Manage all imports through airlines, haulers, and customs.
- Maintain accurate import compliance for all inbound international shipments.
- Implement and maintain record-keeping systems to comply with U.S. Customs.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs officers, and internal stakeholders.
- Classify imported items using the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
- Ensure all required regulatory documents (FDA, FCC, COO, fumigation certificates, etc.) are on file.
- Conduct internal audits and resolve discrepancies in coordination with Trade Compliance.
- File claims for lost/damaged freight and maintain claims data.
Export Compliance
- Track international and domestic shipments and provide proof of delivery.
- Prepare rate quotes and comparisons between carriers.
- Coordinate expedited and international truckload shipments.
- Audit freight invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers.
- Identify opportunities for freight and cost savings.
Bonded Warehouse Operations
- Manage bonded warehouse inventory and ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of bonded stock.
- Ensure proper segregation of bonded and non-bonded goods in compliance with customs regulations.

- Typically requires a Bachelor degree.
- Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
