Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Industrial Engineer located in Prai, Penang.
Responsible for increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.
What a typical day looks like:
- Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
- Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineer by using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and or adequate tools.
- During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.
- Reviews result during protyping and trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team.
- Work measurement programs and examines work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
- May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
- Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
- Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
- Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, technical training, or equivalent education and training.
Typically requires 4 years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related field.
- Proficient in layout and facility design using AutoCAD with the ability to optimize material flow, space utilization, and process efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of DLE/DLU, cycle time study, and capacity planning including the ability to analyze constraints.
- Experienced in project planning and scheduling with practical skills in developing and tracking Gantt charts to ensure on-time execution.
- Well-versed in process improvement and Lean methodologies.
- Capable of leading initiatives that reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance operational performance.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is an added advantage.
- Able to collaborate effectively with teams from diverse regions demonstrating strong communication, and teamwork skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel including advanced formula creation, data analysis, and automation to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
