To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Material Planning Analyst located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the Director, Materials Planning the Material Planning Analyst is in charge of maintaining materials/purchasing data, supply data and information to other production departments, coordinate contracts, maintain Certificates of Conformance for all suppliers, and create and maintain outsources parts schedules.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop and maintain forecasting models, updating them periodically based on customer demand.
- Manage material expiration and accurately report scrap exposure.
- Validate material usage periodically in collaboration with Engineering.
- Provide forecasted spend reports to the Finance team.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and Bill of Materials (BOM) usage.
- Track weekly spend for major accounts and identify any anomalies.
- Monitor supply levels and resolve constraints, communicating critical shortages to Program Management.
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap costs.
- Support customer shipping requests and ensure timely invoicing of purchase orders.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Create and maintain process documentation as needed.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing and support the identification of alternative suppliers.
- Monitor tariff and freight spending, reporting findings to Program Management for financial recovery.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Prefer a minimum of 1 year of experience in materials or related field.
- A background in electronics manufacturing is desired.
