To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Austin TX.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost-effective product solutions of complex scope to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling of automated equipment and developing new material applications.
  • Tolerance Management experienced in tolerance stack-up analysis for design accuracy.
  • Skilled in creating and managing bills of materials and sourcing parts.
  • Interacts with customers on industrial robots to meet their needs.
  • Analyzes product failures to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  • Conducts and supervises tests to ensure product quality.
  • Designs and oversees manufacturing processes to maintain integrity.
  • Defines techniques for constructing and joining materials.
  • Assesses technical specifications and costs for design alignment.
  • Monitors material performance and deterioration.
  • Reviews product plans and recommends suitable materials.
  • Conducts training on new materials and manufacturing methods for customers.
  • Plans and evaluates projects in collaboration with engineers and executives.
  • Oversees technologists, technicians, and engineers to ensure project success.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 3+ experience Mechanical Design
  • SolidWorks, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification (preferred)
  • Electronic Assembly, Materials, Processes Standards 
  • Advanced mathematical concepts, and apply mathematical operations to analyze and ensure the robustness of assigned designs
  • Advanced mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
