To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Director of Program Management located onsite in Austin, TX.

The Chief of Staff role is reporting to the President of Operational Excellence and Transformation.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Establish project schedule, financial parameters, and technical requirements, managing project from initiation through transfer.
  • Communicate customer requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management, and consultants.
  • Review daily production schedule and identify problem areas.
  • Assess causes of problems and provide technical support and direction to project team to resolve issues.
  • Develop status reports, including project financials, ensuring project team is meeting customer requirements and measuring cost control.
  • Maintain project plan documents, procedures, and project deliverables.
  • Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  •  Assist in the management of larger projects/programs.
  • Provide advice to lower-level Project/Product Managers to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  • Recommend changes to policies which may affect subordinate organization(s).
  • Interact frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and professionals.
  • Assist the SVP in developing and implementing long-term strategies and operational plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Identify areas for operational improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments, ensuring alignment and synergy in achieving organizational goals.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular updates to the COO and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  •  Assist in the allocation of resources, including budgeting and staffing, to ensure optimal utilization and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a liaison and representing the President as needed.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership & Operations – Led global strategic initiatives, managed large-scale operations, and drove efficiencies across multiple regions.
  • Financial & Budget Management – Oversaw multibillion-dollar budgets, maintained spending accuracy and identified cost-saving initiatives.
  • AI & Process Automation – Defined AI roadmaps to optimize manufacturing costs and improve operational efficiency.
  • Business Process Improvement – Implemented streamlined business controls and reduced redundancies to enhance productivity.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A Master's Degree is preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 8-9 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration or related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses
  • Impacts the long-term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site. Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies. Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site. May have P&L responsibility for the function. Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
  • Makes decisions for the function and the site. Decisions may affect multiple sites.
