Job Summary BASIC FUNCTION:
HCSC is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Legal team! This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department, assisting attorneys and professional staff with research and resolution activities, and preparing legal documents and managing files as well as providing responsible legal support to the Legal Division based on the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized matter files, including monitoring key deadlines and maintaining electronic and paper documents in compliance with applicable record retention policy.
• Communicate professionally and proactively with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal requirements and deadlines.
• Support attorneys in analysis and resolution of various pre-litigation disputes, including researching claims, contracts, or business processes; assist litigation paralegals with document collection at times.
• Coordinate with in-house attorneys, outside counsel, professional legal staff, and business partners to gather, exchange, and compile information, documents, and data from various sources; prepare documents for production to external entities.
• Prepare regular and special reports, logs, and tracking.
• Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and revising various documents, including correspondence, affidavits, presentations, meeting minutes, and other documents as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of legal and industry terminology, issues, and developments typical of the function; participate in in-house training and professional development programs.
• Provide backup to existing professional staff and train new professional staff on processes within the function.
• Consistently demonstrate effective communication and tact when interacting within the company and with external entities.
• Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
• Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

NOTE: relocation will not be offered, sponsorship will not be extended; the role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office attendance three days per week, working from the other two days ~

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree OR Paralegal Certification OR 4 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department performing the functions of a Paralegal.
  • Knowledge of judicial system, court procedures, corporate policies, procedures, and company operations.
