Summary:

This position is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.

Essential Duties:

  • Receives/analyzes sales order requirements and generates supporting production schedules
  • Responsible for on-time delivery (OTD) to ensure accurate shipment dates
  • Provides daily order fulfillment requirements to shipping
  • Routinely confers with departmental production supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and initiate changes as needed
  • Reviews sales orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Provides priority list to production as needed
  • Coordinates engineering changes into production when appropriate
  • Processes all work orders which support the schedules and purchasing requirements
  • Communicates supply issues to sales team as needed
  • Provides delivery lead time estimates to customer service for new quotes as needed
  • Meets with the Operations team as needed to discuss schedule
  • Determines capacity planning/staffing requirements needed to achieve the production requirements and the schedules
  • Reviews processes for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Associates degree in business or related discipline preferred or equivalent education/relevant experience required.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of scheduling and/or planning experience preferred
  • Inventory analysis experience desired;
  • Possesses strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Experience with ERP systems required, SAP operating system preferred
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand English
