Description

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in our Financial Service Department. A Senior Accountant performs a variety of tasks related to the financial reports, forecasting, and general ledger processes for the company, while also supporting other financial projects as needed by the department. The position's goal is to provide the best quality of service to internal customers, ensuring complete satisfaction while also incorporating and practicing HCSG 5 Marks - Safety, Integrity, Efficiency, Legacy, Respect - in all aspects of job performance.


Responsibilities

Hoist & Crane Service Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team!

The responsibilities are:

  • All aspects of GL closing
  • Sales and property tax reporting
  • Collaborate with team members to provide necessary financial reports to senior-level managers
  • Review and reconcile the general ledger regularly
  • Analyze past and current financial data/performance and provide forecasting support
  • Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics
  • Assist in financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control
  • Help develop financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
  • Evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation
  • Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
  • Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Support other aspects of accounting management (tax forms, reporting etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and projections
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit and provide support as needed
  • Help in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
  • Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Utilize accounting ERP system to facilitate processes and maintain records
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will be able to pass drug, alcohol, background, and motor vehicle checks and will meet the following:

  • Associate or higher Degree in Accounting
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally
  • Experience using accounting software to generate and analyze reports
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Demonstrate respect for all individuals
  • Have an analytical mindset and be able to problem solve
  • Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • NetSuite knowledge
  • 2-3 years of public accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
