Description

We are currently seeking an IT Student Intern to join our team in Kansas City!  This role is an in-office role on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays each week. 

As an IT Student Intern, you are responsible for performing basic IT assignments by receiving specific and detailed instruction as to tasks required and results expected.   

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

·       Provide hardware and software support to the local staff.

·       Report any administrative level inquiries to local IT.

·       Test A/V environment in conference rooms for both Webex and Teams. Possibly work with IT in another location to test connectivity.

·       Assist with Helpdesk tickets pertaining to RDP restarts/power on in the local office.

·       Assist with Helpdesk tickets pertaining to software installations via Software Center.

·       Assist with imaging and replacing computers.

·       Assist in maintaining account and inventory records.

·       Research technical solutions if requested by local IT.

·       Work with vendors or service providers on technical issues if requested by local IT.

·       Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations and provide quality customer service.

·       Assist in supporting staff in the proper scheduling and use of technology in conference rooms.

·       Tier 1 support for mobile phones, headsets, personal storage devices and other peripherals.

·       Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.

·       Rearrange, disconnect, move and connect computer equipment as needed.

Required Skills

·       Advanced knowledge of basic PC components.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Apps.

·       Ability to set up and operate a variety of computer equipment.

·       Ability to work efficiently, in an organized manner and with attention to detail.

·       Ability to communicate effectively with technical matters, both verbally and in writing.

·       Able and comfortable with crawling under desks, lifting equipment (under 30lbs) and assisting when bulky or heavy equipment must be moved.

 

Qualifications

·       Currently enrolled in college working towards Information Systems degree, or similar degree.
