Opportunity:
Situated in the bustling Texas Medical Center, Houston Methodist Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to join a nationally respected team of physicians dedicated to the care of IBD.
The successful candidate, if suitably qualified, may also be eligible for the Fondren Distinguished Centennial Chair in Inflammation.

Clinical Care Overview:
- Diagnose and manage the full spectrum of IBD using advanced diagnostic techniques and the full range of modern therapeutics.
- Support of multispecialty team to address all aspects of IBD including point of care intestinal ultrasound.
- Participate in shared call

- Specialists at Houston Methodist Lynda K. and David M. Underwood Center for Digestive Disorders provide a patient-centric, comprehensive approach to the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Patients travel from Texas and around the country for nationally known, top-rated gastroenterology and GI surgery expertise at Houston Methodist.
- This program has active research studies in both clinical and translational area with ongoing collaboration with clinicians and scientists across the country.
- Houston Methodist instituted an advanced fellowship in IBD (PGY-7) in 2024.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- BC/BE in Gastroenterology
- Advanced training and/or appropriate experience in IBD
- Commitment to patient, student, resident and fellow education
- Demonstrated experience in clinical and/or translational research in IBD
- Interest in Intestinal Ultrasound (training preferred but not required)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
