Position Summary

The Sr. Program Manager has overall accountability for multiple programs and projects from contract through Go-Live.  The Sr. Program Manager is responsible to ensure cost, schedule, and scope of their program(s) stay aligned with the established and approved customer contract and business plan. The Sr. Program Manager works closely with the cross functional Professional Services team including Nursing, Pharmacy, IT, Commercial Sales and Customers, and efficiently leads the team from planning to completion. The Sr. Program Manager synthesizes dependencies and program risks, monitoring risks and developing mitigation/resolution plans to ensure the program proceeds efficiently to completion.   The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for presenting program status, issues, recommendations and updates regarding their programs to all levels of the organization and externally with customers.  The Sr. Program Manager has the required skills to lead high performing teams that will result in the timely and high-quality execution of the assigned program(s).

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·       Generates and negotiates timeline (schedule), resources with internal and external teams.

·       Manages budget information and facilitates scenario & contingency planning, risk assessment and decision-making.

·       Monitors and tracks team performance metrics (time, cost and quality milestones) relative to the approved project plan.

·       Collects, analyzes, integrates, and maintains cross-functional deliverables (i.e. Integrated Project Plans), inclusive of internal and external deliverables.

·       Manage consulting services resources, while driving  day-to-day Core Team activities to meet project milestones and keep functions on track in compliance with Corporate and Site policies and procedures. 

·       Understands critical path activities and anticipates steps that may be bottlenecks.

·       Develops and executes communication plan to ensure effective and timely communication between the Core Team and functional management, senior management, external partners, and Customers.

·       Organizes and facilitates effective meetings. 

·       Identifies and delegates action items, follow-up/track action items to resolution, updates project plans & deliverables, as required, identifies issues and ultimately resolves issues off-line (to ensure effective meetings at all levels), with subsequent escalation as required.

·       Prepares periodic program status reports as requested by management or customer.

·       Work on special projects as they arise.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

·       Well demonstrated expertise in leading and managing cross-functional teams to achieve objectives in a highly matrixed environment. 

·       Must have strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills), advanced technical writing capability, expertise in development of risk mitigation strategies, and experience in implementation and utilization of agile techniques.

·       Cross-functional experience in different areas such as Medical Device Implementation, Quality, Medical, Commercial, Manufacturing Operations, Regulatory is preferred but not required. 

·       Basic knowledge of functions as related to their particular program assignments is essential. 

·       The candidate should have demonstrated successful management competencies (diligence, planning, analysis, and communication).

·       Must possess leadership expertise including exceptional influence and organizational agility skills, conflict management resolution experience and executive presence.  

·       Both fundamental and advanced program management skills are necessary to complete the work including advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Office, including MS Project.

·       Experience in managing medical device implementations is required.

 

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Biological Sciences or related fields is required.

·       10+ years' experience, including 6 years' experience in the Medical Device Industry in a program / project management-related capacity preferred, including Medical Device Implementations process experience.

·       Implementing medical devices in government environment is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·       Must be at least 18 years of age

 

Travel Requirements

·       Typically requires travel 10 -20% of the time

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

·       This is largely a sedentary role.

·       This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

 

 

This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado; California; Connecticut; Montana, Maine or New York.
