Description

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor plays a key role in managing their team's workflow by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results, and reporting to senior management. They ensure efficiency by improving processes, setting team targets, and acting as a link between employees and upper management. Supervisors are also responsible for coaching and resolving issues. Compensation: $68,640.00 annual salary Schedule: Monday through Friday/6:00am-2:30pm (Schedule may fluctuate based on business needs) Status: Exempt Key Responsibilities: * Operational Management: * Oversee daily activities such as, shipping/receiving, and material handling on all inbound containers and outbound transfers and high priority shipments. * Develop schedules, assign tasks, and monitor work to ensure productivity and efficiency. * Follow all SOP’s, Training Guides and Best practices and insure all staff are following all processes put into place by IDL. * Manage operational budgets with staffing and meet customer requirements. * Ensure all paperwork is filled out properly before driver leaves * Ensure breaks are followed as planned * Communicate to drivers when loads will be ready or ETA * Ensure the any team members knows their start times each day as schedules could change * Pushing 5S Standards and processes set by IDL and Client * This Job will include other duties as assigned * Training & Compliance: * Ensure staff complete necessary training (e.g., OSHA compliance, CID and SOPs). * Maintain records for audits (OSHA, BOL, Container manifest, CID Document control and drivers & trailer checklist). * Customer Satisfaction: * Understand customer expectations to meet or exceed satisfaction levels. * Address and resolve customer complaints, both verbal and written. * Team Leadership: * Set performance goals and deadlines aligned with company plans. * Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching. * Maintain timekeeping records and manage payroll inputs for hourly staff. * Handle disciplinary actions when needed, adhering to company policies. * Safety & Compliance: * Enforce company safety standards and report non-compliance. * Manage workplace accidents, including reporting, investigations, and injury management. * Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following legal regulations. * High School Diploma or GED; BS/BA in Logistics/Supply Chain, general business relevant field is preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education. * 3+ years proven experience as supervisor or relevant role in a distribution, 3PL or warehouse environment. * Experience with 5S and continuous improvement programs. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong knowledge of MS Office and WMS software. Preferred Qualifications: * 3PL industry experience is strongly preferred. * Food grade warehousing experience. * Experience with time keeping; ADP E-time is a plus.
