Job Summary 

Working with GBD Manager, provides administrative support to Ingram Global Connect distribution partners for growth. Assist with business project relationships for Ingram joint ventures in France and Sharjah. Participates in the implementation of content catalogue growth strategies for markets in which Ingram does not have a presence. Coordinates the execution of new market entry strategies with Ingram Wholesale and Ingram Publisher Services export teams.

Essential Job Duties

  • Implements publisher business development initiatives that promote long-term growth in assigned territories that maximize revenue, margin, and inventory opportunities for the company, and deliver long-term partner relations.
  • Partners with the sales team to  liaise with each print location in the market ensuring the business relationship is effective and efficient without complaint.
  • Provides administrative support to include managing the daily inbox,monitoring Import / Export Printer Files for success, completing Meta Data Price checks and resolving Print File Errors (i.e.Barcodes, Mismatch, etc.).
  • Works to resolve basic availability or infringement claims, escalating more complex issues.
  • Answers invoice and payment queries, monthly content requests audits, delta file audits for catalog and sample copy requests.
  • Publishes the best seller listings and title status reports.
  • Supports Global pricing initiatives.
  • Assists in the implementation of market sales objectives and strategy for delivering sales plan.
  • Working with Sales Manager, reviews sales objectives against target and prospective client status.
  • As assigned prioritizes key accounts and ensures effective utilization of resources.
  • Works with the Marketing department as required to ensure marketing objectives are implemented.
  • Assists in providing reports and data for MBD's and Meetings, to include creation of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assists with deal proposals for review by management for pricing and contracts with reference to the Deal Forms process as appropriate.
  • Participates in planning and implementation with printers through to contract signature stage, following agreed protocols for contract negotiation.
  • Regularly reports on activities and completed sales across the range of solutions.
  • Provides regular customer, product information, competitor, and market feedback to management as required.
  • Works closely with Customer/Client Relations/Operations and Finance team and where appropriate the relevant global Ingram Sales team on global accounts to support clients.
  • Attends trade events associated with assigned portfolio.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the business from time to time.
  • To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues to maintain a safe environment. To report any accidents or potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.


Qualifications

Qualifications (Typical Experience, Typical Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities): 

Experience:      

  • 3 years' sales experience / bookselling/publishing industry experience essential
  • 1 year of client management experience preferred.

Education:     

  • Degree level education

Skills:

  • Ability to manage sales and integration projects.
  • Proven business development driven project success.
  • Able to prove an ability to develop imaginative business solutions from past experience.
  • Excellent communication skills; both personally and in with regards to project management.
  • Financial acumen when it comes to sales opportunity and business analysis.
  • Experience in book industry sales and marketing disciplines
  • Experience in export sales and knowledge of global book markets
  • Network of export contacts in the book trade.
  • Technical acumen with regards to bibliographic and metadata.
  • Conversant in technical business practices regarding the international book trade.
  • Requires demonstrable sales focused and customer centric approach.
  • Flexible and proactive
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and be computer literate.
  • Must be able to manage workload by establishing priorities; be detail-oriented; and possess the ability to operate successfully within a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible approach to work, hours and be adaptable to change are critical attributes.
  • Fluent in a language in addition to English preferred.  

Essential Physical Demands:    

  • Ability to work out of office hours as client time zone needs dictate.
  • Ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, including keyboard and monitor, phone equipment and other necessary office equipment.
  • Ability to travel internationally and locally and be eligible for Visa status as required.
  • Overnight international travel will be required
