In this role, you will be a part of the team responsible for quality assurance and change management, focusing on support of solutions within Snowflake and Oracle environments utilizing SQL, PL/SQL, and Python. Your responsibilities will include validating and deploying new solutions, monitoring data loads, troubleshooting issues, and conducting data verification. Additionally, you will manage access and permissions, serve as the first level of support and triaging user requests. This will involve close collaboration with business users, solution engineers, data analytics, and Business Intelligence teams.
What you will do
- Build, schedule, and monitor jobs that load data into Oracle & Snowflake.
- Set up notifications and alerts.
- Troubleshoot issues, rerun processes, and restore missing data.
- Acquire approvals and deploy solutions using pipelines that move code between environments.
- Conduct manual data verifications to ensure high quality and consistency of the data using both back-end processes (Python and SQL) and visual data representation in Power BI, Tableau, and Grafana.
- Develop post-production automated data quality checks.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities, building test cases, and validating new and changed datasets.
- Conduct initial investigation and assessment, determine urgency and priorities, and obtain clarifications from other teams and business users.
- Monitor progress on ticket resolution against schedule.
- Snowflake user and role management using Azure Active directory.
- Snowflake resource management of virtual warehouses.
- Creation and organization of databases and schemas in Snowflake.
- Utilize Snow Pipe to monitor ETL pipelines for efficiency.
- Snowflake query performance management to troubleshoot performance issues.
- Oversee use of Snowflake Rest API and connectors for third-party applications
Your required experience/skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
- At least 3 years of troubleshooting experience working with Data Warehouse or Data Marts
- Proficiency with SQL and Python.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Snowflake admin role
- Experience of creating automated data verification scripts
- At least 5 years professional experience working with Relational database, Data Warehouse and Start schema concept.
- Strong ability to multitask and quickly switch form one area to another.
- The capability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
- Understanding of the full lifecycle development process, including understanding business and functional requirements
- Strong organizational skills with a willingness to work with others to foster a team spirit.
Your success in this role will look like:
- Collaborating effectively with the Support, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and Data Analytics team members
- Effectively communicating requests and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work independently with the stakeholders to understand their needs and assess the requests.
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience working as a part of QA team, creating and executing test cases
- Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI and Grafana
- PL/SQL & Snowflake development experience
- A broad knowledge of telecommunication systems
