Your role in helping us shape the future:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for generating, checking and approving electrical design drawings (i.e. Wiring Diagrams, Harness Assembly, Routing and Clamping) for modifications to commercial & business aircraft.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Accomplish detailed electrical design of aircraft equipment installations and alterations (antennas, avionics equipment, interior components)
  • Prepare and/or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company and regulatory to highs standards & requirements
  • Work in a challenging & fast-paced environment to quickly resolve electrical manufacturing and installation problems
  • Participate in internal and external program review meetings
  • Represent Intelsat as primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all technical aspects relating to aircraft electrical systems with customers, suppliers, FAA and oversees aviation regulatory organizations
  • Responsible for providing mentoring support and guidance to Associate Engineers and Designers
  • Formulate, implement and track engineering programs to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules, contracts, specifications or for problems encountered in design, development and installation
  • Provide electrical engineering guidance/counsel and communicate program information within the organization and supporting groups
  • Create department standards/processes and provide follow-on training
  • Develop design Certification documents, such as Wire Routing Assessment, System Safety Assessment, Electrical Load Analysis, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, EWIS Assessment, Technical Publication Manuals
  • Provide guidance to the development teams as it relates to regulatory and industry standards

You should definitely have:

  • 8+ years' experience with electrical systems design documentation and related STC development processes
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and equivalent foreign regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all internal levels of the organization and externally with clients
  • Ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to forecast, anticipate problems and proactively address issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs
  • A passion to deliver to requirements, on-time and within budget
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong negotiation and teaming skills
  • Extensive experience with design for integration of Electrical systems into Commercial and Business aircraft
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical aviation discipline or equivalent related aircraft electrical systems design work experience.
